It was in the fall of 2016 that Beatrice moved to North Wildwood, NJ, and began to concentrate on creating art. In 2017, Beatrice was juried into the West Cape May Artists CO-OP; from there, she began to enter juried and solo gallery shows.
Beatrice’s discipline is Collage and Mix Media, using citrus solvent soaked National Geographic pages. By saturating the paper, the ink breaks down, blurring the image, and creates mystical and other worldly atmospheres. This repurposed paper, with the addition of charcoal, textured paper and acrylics, becomes layered with depth and texture.
Beatrice’s passion for her art is fueled by the inspiration she receives from her home’s ocean view, as well as the news, past and present. She stores these memories in her heart and mind until the time they emerge via the paper, creating her art.
