Betsy Naumchik

Bio

Betsy studied at Rochester Institute of Technology/ School of design, The Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art and furthered her instruction privately with figurative artist, Wade Schuman. She is a signature artist with the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society and has won numerous awards  Betsy spent 20 years teaching art to home-schooled children. She now paints and teaches privately.

Artist Statement

Like many, I am drawn to nature.  I have lived in Southern New Jersey all my life.  I feel as though the sounds and sights of the shoreline, marshes and pine lands are magical, so I treat them as such.  When working I think to myself…what is the story, what is important and how do I get there.  My approach to representing what I see is simple yet complex at the same time.
