Empowering Women. Transforming lives through art.
MudGirls Studios is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing opportunities in art and entrepreneurship to economically disadvantaged and at-risk women by providing training and skills to transition out of poverty and onto a pathway of self-sufficiency. Through the creation and sale of functional art and aesthetic utilitarian objects women will gain a source of long-term supplemental income.

Making is connectedness, self-expression and self-empowerment.
Making is a vehicle to acknowledge one’s sense of belonging and worthiness. MudGirls Studios provides a safe environment, education and skill development through the making of ceramic arts. These skills contribute to the overall health and improved quality of life for women and the community in which they live.
Working the mud and making art is creative and transformative.
Taking a chunk of clay and giving it form and shape, transforming it into a beautiful usable object, gives the maker a sense of accomplishment and affirms one’s own existence: “I make, therefore I am.”
Selling is as important as the making itself, since it offers supplemental income to women in need.
